Help in Poland

Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2025

Read this carefully. By using helpinpoland.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What Help in Poland is, and what it is not

Help in Poland is a free community directory. We help expats living in Poland discover English-speaking service providers (plumbers, lawyers, doctors, accountants, and others). We are an information directory only.

We are not a service provider. We do not perform, supply, supervise, or guarantee any of the services listed on the site. We do not employ, contract, vet, or control the providers who list themselves here.

2. We do not verify or endorse providers

Provider listings are submitted by the providers themselves or by community members. While we review each new listing for basic plausibility before approving it, we do not:

  • Verify the identity, qualifications, licenses, or insurance of any provider
  • Inspect their work, premises, or business practices
  • Confirm that the contact details remain accurate over time
  • Endorse any particular provider, no matter how positively rated

Reviews on the site are written by users and reflect their personal experience. They are not statements by us. Star ratings and recommendations are user-generated content, not endorsements by Help in Poland.

3. You use providers at your own risk

Any contact you make with a provider, any service you arrange, and any payment you exchange are entirely between you and the provider. We are not a party to any agreement, transaction, or interaction between you and a provider.

You are responsible for doing your own due diligence before engaging a provider, including but not limited to:

  • Confirming their identity and credentials
  • Asking for references, licenses, or insurance where relevant
  • Agreeing terms, prices, and timelines in writing
  • Using your own judgment about personal safety, especially when meeting in private locations

4. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Polish and EU law, Help in Poland and its operators are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, harm, or claim arising out of or in connection with:

  • Any service, product, or interaction provided by a listed provider
  • Fraud, theft, deception, or misrepresentation by a provider
  • Poor workmanship, delays, incomplete work, or breach of contract by a provider
  • Abusive, threatening, harassing, or criminal behaviour by a provider, including but not limited to physical assault, sexual misconduct, or other violent acts
  • Any dispute between a user and a provider
  • Inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete information in a listing or review
  • Technical issues, downtime, or data loss on the site

The site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind. Where the law does not allow certain warranties or liabilities to be excluded, our liability is limited to the minimum amount permitted by law.

5. Disputes are between you and the provider

If a provider behaves badly, fails to deliver, or causes harm, your remedy is against that provider directly, through Polish law, consumer protection authorities, or the courts. We are not a mediator in disputes between users and providers, and our role is limited to maintaining the directory.

If you have a genuine safety concern, contact the Polish police (call 112 in emergencies). If you experience fraud or a serious incident, you can also report the provider to us using the "Report this listing" button so we can review and potentially remove the listing.

6. User content (reviews, listings, reports)

When you post a review, listing, or report on Help in Poland:

  • You confirm the content is truthful, your own, and based on real experience
  • You grant us a non-exclusive licence to display, edit for length or clarity, and remove the content
  • You agree not to post defamatory, illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or fraudulent content
  • You agree we may remove any content at our discretion if it violates these terms, is reported, or otherwise risks harm

7. Paid features (now and in the future)

All core features of Help in Poland are free. In the future, we may offer paid features for providers (such as featured listings, badges, or visibility boosts). Paying for a feature does not mean we have verified, vetted, or endorsed that provider. Paid placements are commercial visibility, not a stamp of trust. We will clearly label any paid placement so users can tell the difference.

8. Account responsibilities

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You agree not to impersonate someone else, create fake accounts, manipulate reviews, scrape the site, or use the site for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or delete accounts that abuse the platform.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be announced on the site or by email. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the new terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Poland. Any dispute arising out of these terms will be resolved by the courts of Poland.
